Frenchman Bay Conservancy is a local, community-based nonprofit organization. We depend on you to help us do our work. There are many ways you can contribute to the protection of the land you love:
Make a Financial Contribution

Our members provide nearly all of the funding to support the basic operations of the organization. That includes the staff who do most of the work of our land protection, stewardship and outreach programs, as well as the administrative functions required to maintain the nonprofit organization.

Blue Heron Society members donate an annual gift of $1,000 or more to the operating fund. As a member of the Blue Heron Society you will have special opportunities to discuss your vision and ideas for the organization with our Directors, staff and other donors. You will receive:
| |
|
Reports and personal briefings from the Executive Director about potential and ongoing projects. |
| |
|
Invitation to an annual reception for Blue Heron Society members. |
| |
|
Special acknowledgement in the Annual Report. |

Make a Gift of Securities

If you own appreciated securities, you can contribute them directly to FBC and deduct their market value on the date of the gift. Click here to find the information your financial advisor will need to make the gift.
Include FBC in Your Estate Planning

Your planned gift can help FBC build an endowment to provide a stable funding source for the future of the organization. It's a way for you to make a gift that will sustain FBC's work for the benefit of your children and theirs. If you are interested in making a planned gift, have your financial advisors contact us at (207) 422-2328 for any information they need.
Volunteer
FBC also relies on community members to help directly by giving their time and talents. Volunteers contribute at many levels of the organization, ranging from trail cleanups and stuffing envelopes to Board service.
Protect your Land

If you own land that has significant natural value and you'd like to see that your care of it is continued, FBC may be able to help you. There are a variety of tools for protecting land, ranging from outright gift or sale to a conservation organization to conservation easements to short-term tools like the current use tax programs. If you would like to talk about protecting your land, please contact Barb or Jamie.

Conservation Options, published by Maine Coast Heritage Trust, is a good primer on land protection tools. Click here for an on-line version or contact Joyce for a paper copy. |
